Tackle fly-tipping and back our town centres.
Clean, safe streets and town centres worth walking through are basics, not luxuries. When they slip, people stop feeling proud of where they live, and that feeling is hard to win back.
The problem
Fly-tipping, litter and neglected corners send a message that nobody is in charge. Once a spot has been dumped on, it gets dumped on again. Meanwhile Skelmersdale, Ormskirk and Burscough are asked to compete with out-of-town retail and online shopping with one hand tied behind their back.
What we press for
We push for firm, visible action on fly-tipping and litter, and for enforcement that actually deters the minority who spoil it for everyone. We want Skelmersdale, Ormskirk and Burscough town centres backed and given a reason to visit, not quietly managed into decline.
Where residents report a problem on their street, our councillors take it up and follow it through.
Our commitments
