Reform UK has run Lancashire County Council since May 2025, and West Lancashire is well represented in the administration. Four of the borough’s eight county divisions are held by Reform.
Cllr Simon Evans (Skelmersdale Central) is Deputy Leader of the council and Cabinet Member for Children and Families, one of the most senior Reform figures in Lancashire. Cllr Ella Worthington (Skelmersdale West) is Cabinet Member for Civic Pride, and also sits as a borough councillor for Old Skelmersdale.
They are joined by Cllr Rick Edwards (Burscough and Rufford), Deputy Chair of the council’s Audit, Risk and Governance Committee; and Cllr Nigel Swales (Skelmersdale East).
Between them they cover Skelmersdale, Burscough, the rural west and beyond, working on the services the county runs: roads, adult social care, schools and children’s services. You can find all of their contact details on our councillors page.
