The Reform-run Lancashire County Council set its 2026/27 budget in February, holding the council tax increase to 3.8 per cent. It is the lowest rise in twelve years, after two successive years of 4.99 per cent under the previous administration.
The county council precept is the largest single part of most West Lancashire residents’ council tax bills, so keeping the rise down matters for every household in Skelmersdale, Ormskirk, Burscough and the villages.
Reform’s pitch is simple: treat every pound of public money as if it were your own, cut waste, and keep bills as low as possible while protecting the services people rely on.
