In April 2026, Cllr Ella Worthington was appointed to the Lancashire County Council cabinet as Cabinet Member for Civic Pride. She represents the Skelmersdale West division on the county council and also serves as a borough councillor for Old Skelmersdale.
Civic Pride is a newly created portfolio, and the name is the point: it is about the everyday things that decide whether people feel proud of where they live, clean streets, cared-for town centres, and public spaces that are looked after rather than left to slide.
For Skelmersdale, which has waited far too long for the investment and attention it was promised, having its own county councillor hold exactly this brief in the cabinet is a real opportunity, and one Reform intends to use.
